Academician Aleksandar Ljubić, MD PhD, is a gynecologist recognized for his expertise in reproductive medicine and high-risk pregnancies. He pioneered invasive ultrasound-guided fetal procedures, direct maturation of fetal lungs, inventor of the method of perinatal hearing screening, non-surgical fibroids treatment and advanced NOTES laparoscopic procedures. Professor’s recent research areas include reproductive and perinatal biotechnology, regenerative medicine, assisted reproduction, minimally invasive reproductive surgery, and tumor biology. He is experimenting with novel biological therapies for sterility as well as new discoveries for life longevity. He created the SEGOVA and SEMPRE RB programs for ovarian rejuvenation and longevity.

Prof. Dr Ljubić was a leading researcher in 12 domestic and international scientific projects. He published more than 500 publications - in peer-reviewed journals - 80, with a Citation index – 1404, h-index 19 and i10-index 27.

He was educated at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade, with postgraduate education in the USA, Japan, UK and Greece. For more than 25 years, he worked at Institute for gynecology and obstetrics, Clinical center of Serbia as a doctor, deputy director and director and at Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade as an assistant, associate professor and professor.

 

Professor Ljubić is also:

• Founder and the president of Serbian Society of ultrasound in obstetrics and gynecology

He was the president of the XIII World Congress of Perinatal Medicine. Prof. Dr Ljubić is the recipient of numerous awards, such as the Section for Perinatal Medicine SLD, the Section for Gynecology and Obstetrics SLD, the Association for the Application of Ultrasound in Medicine, the Yugoslav Association of Gynecologists and Obstetricians. He is also the winner of the Investigator Award - XIII -Trophoblast Conference Rochester-USA (1992), Belgrade October Award for Science (1993) and Sir William Lilley Award (WAPM) (2017).
